There will be 3 zones at Urban Infest, representing 3 general types of youth interests.
Each zone will have a variety of activities, some spontaneous, some planned.

Urban Infest & Youthop!a brings you Xclaim! 2005 - Youthop!a is 3 years young! To commemorate this special occasion we will be celebrating the talents who have been gracing the Orchard Youth Park as their playspace and who have been making it their playground for creative youth expression.

It promises to be an aural and visual feast even bigger, bolder and better than previous years - Featuring B-Quartet and Parking Lot Pimps. As usual, it will be a free-form event that allows the individual acts to engage the audience in more ways than one.

HIGHLIGHT EVENT:Check out Singapore's finest skateboarding daredevils at the VANS Skateboard Competition from 12pm onwards in Youth Park! Both the prelims and finals are going to be held on 2nd Jul 05 (Sat):

9am: Start Registration
9.30am to 11pm: Warm up
11pm to 2.30pm: Prelims
2.30pm to 2.50pm: Breakdance performance
2.50pm - 3pm: Announcement of results
3pm to 6.30pm: Finals
6.45pm: Prizegiving


Learn skating from Sandy Snakenberg, two time skating world record holder and founder of AG Sports. Sandy will showcase some of his specialised fitness training equipment and share with you what it takes to be a true world champion! Skaters from INSSAS will be there too to demonstrate Slalom Skating tricks.

Watch out for ClimbAsia as they showcase their rockclimbing, Flying Fox and abseiling skills. Come try the Flying Fox yourself! Proceeds from Flying Fox trials go to adopted charity, Special Olympics Singapore

SMU's Women Soccer Team is out to attract more females to their cause. Join their football clinics and pick up some pointers. Take part in a weightlifting challenge organised by the Weightlifting Federation!



Arts & Music Zone (at Somerset Road behind Mandarin Hotel and Cineleisure)


- Chill out and soak in mad vibes at our Mini music fest. A section will be closed up as different DJs from Radio Heatwave, Singapore's first student-run campus radio station, spin different kinds of music throughout the day.


 


- Promoting a drug-free lifestyle, the DJ Radiance Collective will be spinning alternative music at Youth Park from 8 pm onwards. Beanbags and deck chairs optional! Bring your own Ipod and show off your playlist to the crowd


- Watch R.E.A.L, a local Hip Hop and Rap group, show off their moves and lyrical prowess. Challenge them on the spot to come up with a rap or have a go at freestylin' with them! Others Zone( Somerset Road behind Mandarin Hotel and Cineleisure)

- Athletes from Special Olympics Singapore will be demonstrating Bocce (Lawn Bowling), with other youth. Come and join them and have a go at it!


- We have a big Wall of Hope and Passion to fill and lots of paint and markers - come and give a public shout out about what gets you going day by day.Win limited editions of Scubapunk T-shirts for participating!


- Settler's Cafe and Paradigm Infinitum will be bringing Warmachine Table Top War game to the streets. Step into a fantasy world where technology meets magic; Control armies and test your strategic skills!


- Berkeley chalk-drawing enthusiast, Ng Yong Kuan, will turn Orchard Road into his own canvas. Join him, grab a piece of chalk and create street art! Love Earth?


- Together with the National Environment Agency, young environmental activists will showcase their views through an exhibition, a cheer / dance performance and a fashion show!



- Got Cause?: PAGI and Promiseworks are organising ÒComic InfestÓ contest to promote the theme ÒBe Cyber Safe, Not SorryÓ. Just creatively filling in the bubbles of a comic strip - the best entries will win prizes!
