Our collaboration in bilateral community service between Singapore and Malaysia youths started in 2001 when the Melaka State Youth Council visited Singapore. Heartware Network had the opportunity to meet up with the visitors and the meeting spurred off further discussions for collaborative community work opportunities. In 2002, a goodwill visit was made to Melaka. Heartware Network's Chairman together with 10 youths representing different youth organisations in Singapore had the opportunity to meet up with their counterparts in Melaka. This trip marked a significant progress for the collaboration between Heartware Network and the Melaka State Youth Council as a Statement of Intent was signed. Since the signing of the Statement, the ties between the two parties have become much stronger, leading to many other meaningful activities. Some of the activities include: - Regular exchanges and dialogues between youths from both countries
- Establishment of 2 - 3 months industrial attachment for local ITE youths with companies based in Malaysia in Nov 2005
- Exploration with Malaysian youths to be involved in overseas volunteerism in a third-world country
